Paytons Pals is a non-profit, all volunteer organization, dedicated to the eradication of spinal muscular atrophy, focused on spreading awareness and committed to the support of sma-affected families.

Paytons Pals was founded by our current board of directors Debbie Freeman (Paytons Mom), Paytons grandma Debbie Letter (Our Treasurer), Kelly Ernst (Our Secretary), Jen Berman, Jennifer Haws, Maria Giles, and Adi Rappoport (Our Attorney). We have a HUGE support group for our children, including a TON of volunteers and businesses throughout the community that are 100% dedicated to saving sma children.

Payton was diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy at just a few months of age and therefore given his death sentence. He and his family live with challenges on a daily basis that are beyond the realm of normalcy and day to day life is like nothing you have ever seen. Payton will not survive without a cure or treatment. His family and friends have pulled together to help save him and the children all over the world that suffer from this killing disease.

SMA is the #1 Genetic Killer of children under TWO. Did you know that?? Neither did we, or any of our friends, or any of our family. Nor did any of the newspapers, news channels, talk show hosts, celebrities, or congressman that we have tried to alert. Please help us in the fight against sma.

There are many ways to help us in this fight. Donations can be made (Please see donation page). We also have a live/silent auction every year if you would like to donate services or goods. But, the most important way you can help is to talk about sma. Talk about Payton. Talk about the 2 babies that are born with sma everyday. Let your neighbors know about them. Your bosses and your peers at work. Let them know that these kids are dying every day and with enough funds and support we will have this thing beat. AND SOON. A cure is on the way and there is still not enough time for thousands of children. Get involved and you will be a part of solution to SMA. THANK YOU, and on behalf of everyone at Paytons Pals and involved with Paytons Pals, we ALL THANK YOU.
